Amorgos

Amorgos is a picturesque island of the Cyclades that has been inhabited since ancient times. It is said that the island took its name from the plant amorgis, a type of flax from which the “aliko amorgides” were made, the famous ancient tunics of the island.

The island became known around the world in 1988 when the film Big Blue was shot on Agia Anna beach.
